As 2024 draws to a close, we reflect on a year filled with remarkable achievements, partnerships, and growth. This year has been incredibly busy for Tochtech, and we are grateful for the unwavering support of our clients, partners, and collaborators who have helped us reach new heights. Without you, none of our successes would have been possible.
2024 Highlights:
1. The Views at Providence Living:
A major milestone for Tochtech was the successful implementation of Toch Sleepsense across 156 beds at The Views at Providence Living, a recently opened long-term care home on Vancouver Island. By integrating Sleepsense technology, we were able to enhance resident safety and improve care delivery at this state-of-the-art facility, helping to create a more comfortable and secure environment for residents and staff alike.
2. Fraser Health – CAN Health Network Partnership:
In collaboration with the CAN Health Network, Tochtech has expanded its presence in the Fraser Valley, BC, with the adoption of Toch Sleepsense in three long-term care communities. This initiative focuses on improving resident safety and supporting staff efficiency, ensuring that caregivers have the tools they need to provide the best possible care. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to enhancing senior care through innovative technology.
3. EnvisAGE National Initiative:
Tochtech is proud to be one of 16 SMEs nationally selected for the EnvisAGE national initiative, where we are collaborating with Les Habitations Bordeleau, Living Lab Lanaudière, and Bruyère Continuing Care to evaluate Vericare remote monitoring technology. This collaboration aims to support frail older adults remotely, allowing them to age in place while enhancing safety and health measures in care units and assisted living settings. It’s an exciting step toward revolutionizing how care is delivered to aging populations.
4. Bethany Seniors (Alberta)
Tochtech’s expansion into Alberta, was represented by deployment of Toch Sleepsense at two Bethany Care Society long term care communities with the focus on quality of care improvements. Bethany Seniors is one of the largest non-profit providers of care and housing in Western Canada.
5. UBC Hospital’s STAT In-Patient Unit Research Project:
Our journey of innovation also took us to UBC Hospital, where we’re partnering on a research project to explore the feasibility and acceptability of Toch Sleepsense technology in a specialized geriatric and psychiatric inpatient setting. This project, focused on the Short Term Assessment and Treatment (STAT) In-Patient Unit, will provide valuable insights into how technology can improve care and enhance the quality of life for patients in these highly specialized environments.
6. Experiences & Insights on How Sleep Technology Can Elevate the Quality of Care and Well being of Older Adults
Finally, the roundup would not be complete if we did not mention the extremely well-received Langley Lodge – Tochtech speaker event held on World Sleep Day that brought together close to 50 people. Speakers at the event were Dr. Colleen Carney, Ph.D., CPsych: Professor and Director of the Sleep and Depression Lab at Toronto Metropolitan University, Sandy da Silva: Founder of SKS Consulting and Lisa Samms-Maxwell: Director of Quality, Innovation and Research Langley Care Society. All three provided their experiences and perspectives on the importance of sleep and the transformative potential of sleep technology in improving the quality of care for seniors. A Year of Partnerships and Growth:
This year has been one of collaboration, learning, and shared success. We are proud of the partnerships we’ve built and the impact we’ve made together. We are also thrilled to see the growing interest in our technology as more senior and healthcare providers recognize the potential of our solutions to improve safety, care efficiency, and patient outcomes.
