We’re thrilled to share that Elim Village has expanded its use of Tochtech’s Sleepsense technology—bringing the innovative sleep monitoring solution to all complex care residents at The Harrison building. This milestone follows Elim’s successful initial implementation of Toch Sleepsense in 2023 within the Behavioural Support Transition Neighbourhoods (BSTN), marking a powerful next step in their ongoing commitment to enhancing resident care through technology.
The latest deployment was completed during the week of July 14, 2025, and represents a full-scale rollout of Sleepsense across The Harrison’s complex care units. “Now that Sleepsense is fully implemented in The Harrison building, we are clearly seeing its impact on enhancing our residents’ quality of life,” shared Jennifer Ladesma, Director of Care at Elim Village. “It significantly improves safety through proactive fall prevention, while also supporting better sleep by eliminating the need for disruptive alarms and frequent nightly room checks. The benefits extend to our staff as well—providing peace of mind and increasing efficiency, particularly for those working the evening and night shifts.” Ladesma also added.
Sleepsense’s non-intrusive, real-time monitoring allows care teams to respond faster to resident needs—reducing risk while promoting uninterrupted sleep during the night. The decision to expand its use underscores Elim Village’s leadership in adopting smart solutions that prioritize both personalization and safety in senior care.
