Three Links Care Society is proud to announce its recent partnership with Tochtech Technologies, marking a significant step forward in advancing resident care and safety at its Vancouver long-term care site. In March 2025, Three Links implemented Toch Sleepsense, a state-of-the-art bed sensor technology developed by Tochtech Technologies, to monitor sleep patterns and provide real-time data on residents’ nighttime activity.
This investment reflects Three Links’ ongoing commitment to innovative solutions that support both resident wellbeing and staff effectiveness. Since the implementation of Sleepsense, care teams have been empowered with timely and actionable sleep data that helps them better understand individual resident needs—especially during overnight hours when risks such as falls, and disorientation are highest. “It is nice to be able to see who all is in bed at a glance”. Said Alyana, an RN at Three Links.
“The ability to monitor sleep quality without disturbing residents is a game-changer,” said Faria Ali, Director of Care at Three Links Care Society. “We’re already seeing how this technology is helping us intervene more proactively. With the data staff feel more supported in the care decisions and changes they make.” Ali added.
Improving sleep quality has a direct impact on health outcomes for seniors. Research consistently shows that better sleep contributes to reduced fall risk, improved cognitive function, and overall emotional wellbeing. With Sleepsense, Three Links is now able to tailor care plans based on accurate sleep trend data, ensuring a more personalized and preventative approach to health and safety. “Sleepsense has been a great addition to the safety of our residents. Data collection is helping with our care planning, such as toileting times have been adjusted,” said Tony, an LPN at Three Links.
Tochtech’s Sleepsense sensor, discreetly placed under the mattress, operates without the need for wearables or manual checks, making it ideal for seniors. The system alerts staff to unusual patterns—such as residents getting out of bed unexpectedly—allowing for faster response times and improved peace of mind for families.
This partnership underscores Three Links’ leadership in adopting meaningful innovation in senior care and its ongoing mission to provide a safe, respectful, and compassionate home for its residents.
Three Links joins an expanding number of LTC sites in BC, which include Langley Lodge, Elim Village, Nicola Lodge (Sienna Living), Maplewood Care Society, St. Micheal’s and The Views by Providence Living that have implemented Tochtech’s Sleepsense technology.
