I was referred to this company by dementia solutions and I am so grateful for the referral. It’s been about 10 months since I installed the devices in my mom’s house and have been monitoring her movements, and daily activity. She lives alone and I’m an only child who lives in another country. My mom is 85 and at the beginning stages of dementia. Sleep sense is one of my favorite of the devices as it monitors her sleeping patterns and the overall information from the Vericare app is incredible. I honestly would join this company as a rep because I love it so much and it gives me such peace of mind. I feel like I’m able to check in on her without being there and without extra cameras.
Since I didn’t want my mom to feel stress about this, I installed it myself without strangers coming in the house. The people at tochtech were so great in helping me plan the installation. They also helped me troubleshoot. Love Tochie for mom’s pill reminders.

Most would say why do you need this device if you already have an Alexa or Google device. During our “stay home” orders, we tried using Alexa and Google to set reminders for our kids to do homework, activities and chores and it just didn’t work effectively. So I heard about Tochie and how it can personalize in your voice and has a intuitive app for creating a personalized schedule for reminders. This was a game changer in our household. Kids have more fun with the personalized messages. Also another HUGE benefit that I can see for my parents who don’t speak English is now they can hear messages in their own language. I don’t have to call them constantly to remind them to do this or that. We can also send surprise messages to keep them engaged. Perfect for all ages frankly, not just kids and seniors.

I live 70 miles away from my sister who needs to be reminded of appointments among other things. We’ve been using it for about a month and find it helpful. She seems to be happy to hear my voice almost everyday and I can use my phone calls to talk about other things. When requesting a confirmation (by tapping the top), the Tochie is not sensitive enough. In fact, she has to bang it on the table to confirm or repeat the message. Otherwise, overall a very handy product.

The device is programmed to help orient my 98 year old mother, with messages to cue her to wake up, to hear the time of the day, to wake her from nap—all in my voice which is great. But device is not intuitive. There are delays in the recorded voice which are inexplicable. And difficult to get to repeat messages. Good idea, not a perfect execution.
